Ingredients

  • 3 lb. fresh asparagus or 3 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen
  • 1/2 c. butter or margarine
  • 6 tsp. fresh lemon juice
  • 1/2 tsp. dried marjoram
  • 1/2 c. salted cashew nuts, coarsely chopped

Method

  • Cook asparagus in salted water in large covered skillet until tender, about 18 minutes; or if using frozen asparagus, cook as directed on package.
  • Drain and arrange on heated platter.
  • While asparagus cooks, melt butter in small saucepan; add lemon juice, marjoram and cashew nuts.
  • Simmer over low heat for about 3 minutes.
  • Pour over cooked asparagus.
  • Yields 10 servings.
