- 1 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 12 cup shortening
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 12 cups applesauce
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 2 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 14 teaspoon allspice
- 18 teaspoon clove
- 34 cup raisins
- 12 cup nuts, chopped
- 12 cup dates (optional)
Method
- cream sugar and shortening.
- add soda to applesauce.
- sift dry ingredients.
- add to creamed mixture.
- add raisins and nuts and applesauce.
- pour into greased 9 inch cake pan i used tube
- bake slowly 325 degrees for 60 minutes.
