Ingredients

  • 1 cup rice Uncle Bens, washed & well drained
  • 2 butter table spoons
  • 1/2 tea spoon all spice
  • 1/4 tea spoon fresh ground pepper
  • 2 cups chicken broth you can substitute for water for
  • 1/2 almonds
  • salt to test
  • 1/2 tea spoon of paprika for garnish
  • fresh basil for garnish

Method

  • On a medium heat add butter then the rice mix and cook about 5 minutes
  • Add Pease, all spice & salt
  • Cook for about 2 minutes
  • Add chicken broth (or water)
  • Let it cook for 20 minutes on low heat and covered pan
  • In small pan roast the almond adding a little butter & salt, set aside.
