Ingredients
- 1 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. butter
- 1-1/2 c. applesauce
- 2 eggs
- 2-1/2 c. Tube Rose flour
- 2 tsp. soda
- 1 c. raisins
- 1/2 c. nuts, chopped
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 tsp. allspice
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. salt
Method
- Mix first four ingredients. Sift flour, soda and spices. Combine flour mixture with applesauce mixture; stir in raisins and nuts. Bake in greased and floured tube pan at 350° for 45 minutes or until cake tester comes out clean. May be baked in two layer pans and frost with caramel icing.
