Ingredients

  • 1 c. butter or oleo
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 Tbsp. vanilla
  • 2 c. sifted flour (cake)
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 8 oz. sour cream
  • 1 c. peeled, chopped finely apple
  • 1 c. finely chopped walnuts
  • 2 Tbsp. brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon

Method

  • Beat butter on medium speed with an electric mixer until creamy.
  • Gradually add sugar, beating well.
  • Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition.
  • Stir in vanilla.
  • Combine flour, baking powder and salt.
  • Add flour mixture to butter mixture alternately with sour cream, beginning and ending with flour mixture.
  • Mix at low speed after each addition, just until blended.
  • Pour half of the batter into a greased and floured 12 cup Bundt pan. Combine finely chopped apples and next 3 ingredients; spoon over batter in pan, leaving a 1/2-inch border around center and outer edges.
  • Add remaining batter.
  • Bake at 350° for 50 to 55 minutes.
