Ingredients
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 c. water
- 4 cloves
- sliced rind of 1/2 lemon
- 1 1/2 c. apple balls
- red or green food coloring
Method
- Combine sugar, water, cloves and lemon rind.
- Cook for several minutes until syrupy.
- Remove cloves and lemon rind.
- Add apple balls (apples should be peeled and cut with a melon ball cutter). Add 1 or 2 drops food coloring.
- Cook until apples are tender. Chill and serve with roasted meats or poultry.
