Ingredients
- 1 pkg. yeast
- 1/4 c. warm water
- 1/3 c. sugar
- 2 c. buttermilk
- 1 c. shortening
- self-rising flour
Method
- Mix yeast and water.
- Add sugar, buttermilk, and shortening. Add enough flour, a little at a time, until the mixture forms a slightly moist ball.
- Roll out and cut with biscuit cutter.
- Bake at 400° for 20 to 35 minutes.
- Time may vary depending on oven and altitude.
