Ingredients
- 5 c. flour
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 3 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 c. shortening
- 1 pkg. dry yeast
- 2 Tbsp. warm water
- 2 c. buttermilk
Method
- Sift dry ingredients together.
- Cut in shortening.
- Dissolve yeast in warm water and add with buttermilk to dry mixture.
- Mix well; turn out on lightly floured board.
- Roll to 1/2-inch thickness.
- Bake on cookie sheet at 400° for 15 minutes or until golden brown.
