Ingredients
- 1 tsp. dry yeast
- 3 Tbsp. warm water
- 2 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. butter
- 3/4 c. buttermilk
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
Method
- In a 1-cup measure, dissolve yeast in water.
- In a large bowl, stir together flour, sugar, baking powder, soda and salt.
- Cut in butter until it is fine.
- Stir in yeast mixture and enough of the buttermilk to make a fairly soft dough.
