Ingredients
- 1 Tbsp. baking powder
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
- 2/3 c. shortening
- 2 c. buttermilk
- 5 1/2 c. flour
- 1 Tbsp. salt
- 1 Tbsp. soda
- 1 pkg. yeast, dissolved in 1/2 c. warm water
Method
- Sift dry ingredients together and cut in shortening.
- Mix yeast and water with buttermilk and mix into dry ingredients. Knead lightly. Store in greased, covered bowl in refrigerator.
- To use, take out amounts needed. Roll and cut.
- Bake at 450° for about 20 minutes until brown.
