Ingredients
- 1 c. butter (not margarine)
- 1 1/3 c. granulated sugar
- 3 Tbsp. water
- 1 Tbsp. light corn syrup
- 1 c. coarsely chopped almonds
- 1 (12 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips, melted
- 1 c. finely chopped toasted almonds
Method
- In large saucepan, melt butter.
- Add sugar, syrup and water. Cook, stirring constantly, to hard crack (300°).
- Quickly stir in coarsely chopped almonds.
- Spread in well-greased 9 x 13-inch metal pan (no glass).
- Cool thoroughly; turn onto waxed paper. Spread with 1/2 melted chocolate.
- Sprinkle with 1/2 chopped almonds.
- Cover with wax paper; turn over and spread with rest of chocolate and sprinkle with nuts.
- Break into pieces after chocolate hardens.
