Ingredients
- 1 head lettuce
- 3/4 c. celery, chopped
- 3/4 c. green pepper, chopped
- 1 medium onion, sliced thin
- 1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen peas
- mayonnaise (1 c. or more)
- 10 oz. sharp Cheddar, grated
- 1 lb. bacon, crisp and crumbled
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
Method
- Wash and dry lettuce (not wet); break up.
- Layer in large flat bowl the lettuce, celery, pepper and onion.
- Sprinkle peas over top.
- Cover with mayonnaise.
- Sprinkle sugar on top, then cheese and bacon last.
- Cover tightly and refrigerate for 24 hours.
- Press salad down to get cover on if necessary.
