Ingredients
- lettuce
- 1 c. celery
- 1 medium onion
- 2 cans water chestnuts (already sliced)
- 1 bag frozen peas
- 1 1/2 c. mayonnaise
- 3 Tbsp. sugar
Method
- Break
- up lettuce and line a 9 x 12-inch or 9 x 13-inch pan. Cut up crisp celery. Sprinkle on lettuce. Chop onion as fine as possible. Sprinkle over celery.
- Open and drain water chestnuts. Spread over onion. Spread evenly over all the frozen peas.
- Mix the mayonnaise with the sugar.
- Spread over the peas. Refrigerate, covered, overnight (or at least 5 hours). When serving, sprinkle with hard-boiled eggs and bacon bits.
