Ingredients
- 1/2 c. flour
- pinch of salt
- 1 egg
- 1/2 pt. milk
Method
- Mix all ingredients, adding milk gradually.
- Cover and let stand 1/2 hour.
- Preheat oven to 425° (this is the secret to success).
- Muffin tins should be greased and very hot prior to placing batter in them.
- Only pour about 1/2 inch into each tin. Cook approximately 10 to 15 minutes.
- It should rise and brown. If taken out too early, it will be soggy.
- If oven and tin are not hot enough, it won't brown.
- Normally served with roast beef, potatoes and gravy.
