Ingredients
- 1 pkg. dry yeast
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 1/2 Tbsp. shortening
- 1 egg, beaten
- 4 c. flour
- 1 1/4 c. lukewarm water
Method
- Dissolve yeast and 1/2 teaspoon sugar in 1/4 cup lukewarm water in a large bowl.
- Add remaining sugar, salt, shortening, egg and 1 cup warm water; mix well.
- Stir in 2 cups flour, mix, then remaining flour.
- Place in refrigerator until ready to use.
