Ingredients
- 1/4 c. shortening
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 2 c. scalded milk
- 1/4 c. lukewarm water
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 5 to 6 c. plain flour, sifted
- 2 pkg. yeast
Method
- Combine scalded milk, shortening, sugar and salt; cool to lukewarm.
- Soften yeast in lukewarm water.
- Stir and combine with cooled milk mixture.
- Add egg and about half the flour; beat well. Add enough remaining flour to make a soft dough; mix thoroughly.
