Ingredients
- 1 c. butter, softened
- 1 c. powdered sugar
- 1 c. granulated sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 c. oil
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. cream of tartar
- 5 c. sifted flour
- granulated sugar to dip to bake
Method
- Cream butter with powdered sugar and 1 cup granulated sugar. Beat in eggs until smooth and creamy.
- Slowly stir in oil, vanilla, baking soda, cream of tartar, salt and flour.
- Chill dough.
- Shape into walnut size balls.
- Roll balls in granulated sugar.
- Place on baking sheet; press down gently with bottom of glass.
- Bake at 350° for 10 to 12 minutes.
- Makes 4 dozen.
