Ingredients

  • 1/3 c. rinsed wild rice
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • water
  • 1/3 c. margarine
  • 1 c. sliced celery
  • 3/4 c. chopped onion
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 1/4 c. flour
  • 4 c. milk

Method

  • Mix wild rice, salt and water.
  • Bring to a boil, then simmer on low for 45 minutes.
  • Drain.
  • Saute celery and onion in margarine until done.
  • Add sauted mixture to salt, pepper, flour and milk and heat. Add wild rice, heat again.
  • Serve with chopped parsley and/or bacon, crumbled.
