Ingredients
- 1 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 1/2 c. milk or evaporated milk
- 1/3 c. cocoa
- 1/8 tsp. salt
- 4 Tbsp. flour
- 3 eggs
- 3 Tbsp. butter
- 1 tsp. vanilla
Method
- Mix sugar, cocoa, flour and salt.
- Add 1/2 cup milk to well beaten egg yolks, then blend into dry ingredients.
- Stir until all lumps are dissolved.
- Add remaining milk and mix.
- Bring to a boil, stirring constantly.
- Then cook over low heat until desired thickness.
- Add vanilla and butter.
- Stir and set aside until crust is ready.
- Pour into slightly baked crust.
- Top with meringue.
- Brown in 400° oven.
