Ingredients
- 1 (6 oz.) box Uncle Ben's wild rice
- 1/2 c. margarine
- 2 Tbsp. flour (plain)
- 1 c. milk
- 2 (3 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 c. buttered mushrooms
Method
- Cook rice according to directions.
- Pour rice into colander and drain well.
- Melt butter; add flour and stir until a thick paste.
- Add milk slowly.
- Add cream cheese and stir until melted and sauce is smooth.
- Butter 1 1/2-quart (8 x 8-inch) casserole. Layer rice, mushrooms and cream cheese sauce.
- Repeat until dish is filled.
- Save enough sauce to put generous amount of sauce on top.
- Bake at 325° for 20 to 30 minutes or until mixture is hot.
