Ingredients
- 1 c. whole wheat flour
- 1/4 c. dry milk
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 envelope dry yeast
- 2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
- 1 c. very warm water
- 1 egg
- 1 c. white flour
Method
- Mix the first 6 ingredients.
- Add the very warm water.
- Beat at medium speed for 2 minutes. Add the egg and 1/2 cup white flour. Beat on high speed for 2 minutes.
- Add 1/2 cup white flour (or enough to make a thick batter).
- Cover and let rise about 1hour. Stir down and fill muffin pans 1/2 full.
- (Raisins, bananas, apples or other fruits may be added before filling pans.) Let rise about 1 hour. Bake at 375° until brown.
