Ingredients
- 1 pkg. dry yeast
- 3 or 4 c. flour
- 1 Tbsp. salt
- 1 c. water
- 1 tsp. sugar
- 2 Tbsp. Crisco
Method
- Put dry yeast into large bowl; add flour and stir until yeast has dissolved.
- Add Crisco, sugar and salt; stir until dissolved. Add flour gradually, one cup at a time.
- Mix thoroughly.
- After all the flour has been mixed thoroughly, knead dough for about 5 minutes.
- Grease bowl and put dough in warm place, allowing it to rise until doubled in size.
- Cover bowl.
- When risen, punch dough down and knead again.
- Divide dough and put into greased bread pans.
- Allow to rise again.
- Bake at 350° until brown.
- Makes 2 loaves.
