Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 c. milk or water
  • 2 Tbsp. margarine
  • 3 Tbsp. honey
  • 1 Tbsp. yeast (1 pkg.)
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 1/2 c. wheat flour
  • 4 to 5 c. wheat flour

Method

  • Heat milk (water), margarine and honey to lukewarm (100° to 110°).
  • In a medium bowl, blend the yeast, salt and wheat flour. Slowly add liquid to wheat flour mixture.
  • Beat with spoon 200 to 300 times.
  • Add 1 1/2 cups flour at a time, until it is the right consistency to roll out (4 to 5 cups flour).
  • Knead, put into a greased bowl and let rise 40 to 45 minutes.
