Ingredients

  • 4 (1 oz.) sq. sweetened chocolate
  • 3/4 c. butter, softened
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. chopped walnuts
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract

Method

  • Melt chocolate in top of double boiler over hot water; set aside to cool.
  • Cream the butter; slowly add sugar.
  • Beat well. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well.
  • Stir chocolate into mixture.
  • Add flour, salt, walnuts and 1 teaspoon vanilla, stirring well.
  • Pour batter into 13 x 9 x 2-inch greased and floured baking pan; set aside.
