Ingredients
- 750 grams pitted cherries
- 3 tbsp brandy
- 60 grams granulated sugar
- 120 ml apple juice
- 2 tsp arrowroot or corn starch
- 2 tbsp water
Method
- Put the cherries in a saucepan with the brandy, sugar and apple juice
- Heat gently until the sugar dissolves then bring to the boil and let simmer gently for 5 minutes
- Mix the arrowroot powder with the water
- Pour into the pan and stir until thickened
- Cool and chill before serving
- Great with vanilla ice cream or with whipped cream and brandy baskets
