Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb. (2 sticks) butter or margarine, softened
  • 1 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1/2 c. granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. raisins
  • 3 c. uncooked rolled oats, old-fashion or quick

Method

  • Heat oven to 350°.
  • Beat together margarine or butter and sugars until creamy.
  • Add eggs and vanilla; beat well.
  • Combine flour, baking soda, cinnamon and salt; add to liquid mixture.
  • Mix well.
  • Stir in oats and raisins; mix well.
  • Bake 30 minutes in 9 x 13-inch ungreased baking pan.
  • Yield: 24 medium bars.
