Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. chopped maraschino cherries, well drained
  • 1/3 c. butter, softened
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 Tbsp. light corn syrup
  • 1 Tbsp. Kirsch liqueur
  • 2/3 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 c. unsweetened cocoa
  • 1/4 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/3 c. slivered almonds
  • 1 c. vanilla-milk-flavored chips
  • Vanilla Chip Drizzle

Method

  • Heat oven to 350°.
  • Line a 9-inch square baking pan with foil. Grease and flour.
  • Blot cherries between layers of paper towels. In a small mixer bowl beat butter, sugar, eggs, corn syrup and Kirsch until blended.
  • Add flour, cocoa and baking powder.
  • Blend until combined.
  • Stir in chopped cherries, almonds and vanilla chips.
  • Pour into prepared pan.
  • Bake 25 to 30 minutes, or until brownies begin to pull away from sides of pan.
  • Cool completely. Cut into squares.
  • Garnish with Vanilla Chip Drizzle.
