Ingredients

  • 1 (18 1/2 ounce) package German chocolate cake mix
  • 3 eggs (or as called for by your cake mix)
  • 13 cup oil (or as called for by your cake mix)
  • 1 13 cups water (or as called for by your cake mix)
  • 14 ounces caramels
  • 12 cup evaporated milk
  • 34 cup butter
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 cup pecans, chopped
  • 1 (15 ounce) container chocolate frosting
  • toffee pieces

Method

  • Mix German Chocolate cake according to package directions on box and pour half of the batter into a 9x13 baking pan, bake at 350F for 15 minutes.
  • Melt the caramels with the evaporated milk and the butter, spread this mixture over the half of the batter baked above.
  • Sprinkle with chocolate chips and pecans.
  • Pour remaining batter into pan and bake for 20 minutes.
  • Cool completely.
  • Frost with a nice chocolate frosting and sprinkle with toffee chips.
