Ingredients
- 4 cloves Garlic, Minced
- 4 Tablespoons Vegetable Oil
- 1 block Japanese Pressed Tofu Or Silken Tofu (1 Pound Block)
- 2 Tablespoons Soy Sauce
Method
- In a shallow frying pan over medium heat, heat the oil.
- Then add minced garlic and cook until golden brown.
- Do not leave garlic and oil in the pan when its done as it will continue to brown and then burn in the residual heat.
- Pour into a cool bowl and set aside.
- Remove tofu block from its packaging.
- If you want to serve this cold, proceed to the next step.
- If serving warm, add a dash of water into the pan and once its simmering add the tofu and steam it for 2-3 minutes.
- Then pour away the water that has pooled at the bottom of the serving dish.
- I do not recommend using the microwave as it may cause the tofu to explode.
- Put your tofu onto a plate.
- Spoon soy sauce and the fried garlic with oil over the top.
- You can choose to cut it into cubes to serve or leave a spoon on the dish for everyone to scoop out their own portion.
- Messy but fun!
