- 2 sticks margarine
- 1 c. water
- 4 Tbsp. Hershey's cocoa
- 2 c. sugar
- 2 c. flour
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 c. sour cream
- 1 tsp. soda
- 1 stick margarine
- 4 Tbsp. Hershey's cocoa
- 1/3 c. milk
- 1 c. chopped walnuts
- 1 box powdered sugar
- 1 tsp. vanilla
Method
- Bring to a boil in a double boiler 2 sticks margarine, water, and 4 Tbsp. cocoa.
- Remove from heat and add 2 c. sugar, flour and salt; mix well.
- Beat together eggs, sour cream and soda and add to cocoa mixture.
- Pour batter into jelly roll pan and bake at 325° for 25 minutes.
- While cake is baking, prepare frosting. Melt together in double boiler 1 stick margarine, cocoa and milk. Bring to a boil.
- Remove from heat and quickly add walnuts, powdered sugar and vanilla.
- Spread frosting on hot cake as soon as it comes out of the oven.
