Ingredients
- 3 Tbsp. margarine
- 1 small onion, minced
- 4 Tbsp. brown sugar
- 1 medium head red cabbage, shredded (4 to 5 c.)
- 3 tart apples, sliced thinly
- 1/4 c. mild vinegar
- salt and pepper to taste
Method
- In 3-quart saucepan, melt margarine over medium-low heat. Add onion and brown sugar.
- Cook until a golden yellow.
- Add remaining ingredients.
- Cover.
- Cook on high heat until steaming, then reduce to low heat for 25 to 30 minutes (sometimes takes longer).
- Serves 4.
