Ingredients
- 1/2 c. warm water
- 2 pkg. dry yeast
- 1 1/2 c. lukewarm milk
- 1/2 c. soft shortening
- 2 tsp. salt
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 7 to 7 1/2 c. flour
- 1/2 c. warm water (105~ to 115~)
- 2 tsp. baking powder
Method
- Melt shortening in the warm water.
- Dissolve yeast in same water in large mixing bowl.
- Mix well.
- Add sugar, salt, eggs, milk and baking powder.
- Slowly add 1 cup flour while scraping sides. Add flour until stiff enough to knead.
- Add flour to soft dough, about 5 minutes.
- Let rise.
- Mix down once.
- Shape into rolls, coffee cake, tea ring, cinnamon rolls or pecan rolls.
- Bake at 375°.
