Ingredients

  • 4 pork chops (1-inch thick)
  • 2 Tbsp. flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 Tbsp. bacon fat
  • 1 (3 or 4 oz.) can mushrooms
  • 1 medium green pepper, cut in strips
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 2 Tbsp. molasses or brown sauce
  • 2 tsp. soy sauce
  • 2 Tbsp. vinegar

Method

  • Sprinkle pork chops with flour combined with 1/2 teaspoon salt.
  • Brown in fat in skillet.
  • Drain mushrooms, reserving liquid.
  • Add enough water to liquid to make 1 cup.
  • Add to pork chops with green pepper and onion.
  • Sprinkle with remaining salt. Combine remaining ingredients; pour over chops.
  • Cook over low heat for 45 minutes.
