Ingredients

  • 2 lb. ground beef
  • 1 lb. sausage
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 c. cracker crumbs or cereal crumbs
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 2 Tbsp. parsley flakes
  • 2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 3 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • 1 can pineapple bits (13 1/2 oz.)
  • 1 c. brown sugar
  • 2/3 c. vinegar
  • 2 Tbsp. soy sauce

Method

  • Mix meat, eggs, crumbs, onion, parsley flakes and Worcestershire sauce together.
  • Season to taste.
  • Shape into meatballs and bake at 400° for 15 minutes.
  • Drop into sauce and heat thoroughly.
  • Mix cornstarch and sugar.
  • Stir in reserved pineapple syrup, vinegar and soy sauce until smooth.
  • Pour into skillet; cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until thick and boiling.
  • Stir 1 minute.
  • Add meatballs and pineapple bits; heat thoroughly.
