- 2 lb. ground beef
- 1 lb. sausage
- salt and pepper to taste
- 2 eggs
- 1 1/2 c. cracker crumbs or cereal crumbs
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 2 Tbsp. parsley flakes
- 2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 3 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 1 can pineapple bits (13 1/2 oz.)
- 1 c. brown sugar
- 2/3 c. vinegar
- 2 Tbsp. soy sauce
Method
- Mix meat, eggs, crumbs, onion, parsley flakes and Worcestershire sauce together.
- Season to taste.
- Shape into meatballs and bake at 400° for 15 minutes.
- Drop into sauce and heat thoroughly.
- Mix cornstarch and sugar.
- Stir in reserved pineapple syrup, vinegar and soy sauce until smooth.
- Pour into skillet; cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until thick and boiling.
- Stir 1 minute.
- Add meatballs and pineapple bits; heat thoroughly.
