Ingredients

  • 1 chicken or chicken pieces
  • 3 qt. water
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. pepper
  • 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1 pkg. medium size flour tortillas
  • 3 Tbsp. flour
  • 1/2 c. water

Method

  • Cook chicken in 6-quart pan with 3 quarts water, salt, pepper and garlic powder until done.
  • Remove chicken from broth and set aside.
  • Cut tortillas in half, then cut in 1-inch strips.
  • Drop into boiling broth and stir.
  • Mix 3 tablespoons flour with 1/2 cup water and add to dumplings to thicken.
  • Remove chicken from bones and add to dumplings.
  • Season to taste.
