Ingredients
- 3/4 c. shortening
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 egg
- 1/4 c. molasses
- 2 c. flour
- 2 tsp. soda
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 3/4 tsp. ginger
- 1/4 tsp. cloves
Method
- Mix together the shortening, sugar, egg and molasses.
- Add the flour, soda, salt, cinnamon, ginger and cloves.
- Form into 1-inch balls.
- Lightly press your finger in the middle of each to make a small dent.
- Bake at 375° for 10 to 12 minutes. Roll in powdered sugar while warm.
