Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 c. sifted confectioners sugar (2 c. plain sugar)
  • 1 c. butter
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 tsp. almond flavorng
  • 2 1/2 c. Gold Medal flour
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1 tsp. cream of tartar

Method

  • Mix sugar and butter; mix in egg and flavoring.
  • Blend dry ingredients in.
  • Refrigerate 2 to 3 hours.
  • Heat oven to 375°; divide dough in half and roll out on lightly floured pastry cloth to 3/16-inch thickness.
  • Cut with cookie cutter.
  • Sprinkle with sugar.
  • Place on lightly greased baking sheet.

  • 8 minutes or until golden brown.
