Ingredients

  • 3 1/2 c. sifted all-purpose flour
  • 2 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2/3 c. butter or margarine
  • 1 1/2 c. granulated sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 Tbsp. milk

Method

  • Sift together flour, baking powder and salt.
  • Cream butter. Add sugar gradually.
  • Cream until light and fluffy.
  • Add vanilla. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Alternately add flour mixture and milk, beating until blended after each addition.
  • Wrap dough in foil or plastic wrap and chill several hours or overnight.
