Ingredients
- 1 yellow or white cake mix
- 1 (3.4 oz.) pkg. instant pudding mix (any flavor)
- 3/4 c. powdered sugar
- 2 1/2 c. cold milk
Method
- Prepare cake according to package directions.
- Remove baked cake from oven; immediately poke holes in cake 1 inch apart, using wooden spoon handle.
- Only after poking holes, combine instant pudding, powdered sugar and milk.
- Beat at low speed for not more than 1 minute; do not overbeat.
- Quickly, before pudding thickens, pour 1/2 of the thin pudding evenly over warm cake into holes to make stripes.
- Allow remaining pudding to thicken slightly, then spoon over the top, swirling it to frost the cake.
- Chill at least 1 hour.
- Store cake in refrigerator.
