Ingredients
- 2 c. flour
- 3/4 c. brown sugar
- 1 egg, beaten
- 3/4 c. cold butter
- 3/4 c. chopped nuts
- 24 caramels, unwrapped
- 1 can Eagle Brand sweetened condensed milk
Method
- Preheat oven to 350°.
- In large bowl, combine flour, sugar and egg.
- Cut in 1/2 cup of butter until crumbly.
- Stir in nuts. Reserve 2 cups.
- Press remainder firmly on bottom of greased 9 x 13-inch pan.
- Bake 15 minutes.
- Meanwhile in saucepan over low heat, melt caramels, milk and remaining butter.
- Pour over prepared crust.
- Top with reserved crumb mixture.
- Bake 20 minutes.
- Cool.
- Cut into bars.
- Store loosely covered at room temperature.
