Ingredients

  • 1 c. miniature marshmallows
  • 1 (3 oz.) pkg. strawberry flavored jello
  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 3 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 c. milk
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen sliced strawberries
  • 2 1/4 c. flour
  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Method

  • Generously grease bottom only of 13 x 9-inch pan.
  • Sprinkle marshmallows evenly over bottom of pan.
  • Thoroughly combine thawed strawberries and syrup with dry gelatin and set aside.
  • In large bowl, combine remaining ingredients.
  • Blend at low speed until moistened.
  • Beat 3 minutes at medium.
  • Pour batter evenly over marshmallows and spoon strawberry mixture over batter.
  • Bake at 350° for 45 to 50 minutes or until golden.
