Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 c. water
  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 5 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • 2 pkg. strawberry jello
  • 1 tsp. red food coloring
  • 1 qt. fresh or frozen strawberries

Method

  • Cook water, sugar and cornstarch until thickened.
  • Add jello and food coloring. Let mixture set until cold. Fold in sliced strawberries.
  • If berries are frozen, drain and use instead of water. If there isn't 2 1/2 cups of juice, use what juice you have and add the rest water.
  • Pour into baked pie shells.
  • Top with whipped cream.
  • Makes 2 pies.
