Ingredients

  • 1 quart canned tomatoes
  • 8 slices wheat whole, Italian rustic bread
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • butter

Method

  • Toast the bread until golden brown on both sides. Spread both sides of the toast with butter.
  • Pour the canned tomatoes into a glass baking dish. Break apart the toasted bread and mix it into the bowl of tomatoes using a fork to evenly incorporate the bread. Sprinkle the sugar on top.
  • Preheat the oven to 375 degrees; bake the dish until it is heated through and slightly bubbly on top, about 25-30 minutes. Enjoy!
