Ingredients
- 2 1/2 to 3 lb. fryer
- 1 (10 1/2 oz.) can condensed cream of celery soup or mushroom soup
- 1 soup can hot water
- 2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
- pepper
Method
- Cut
- chicken
- into
- frying pieces.
- Pour soup and water into large saucepan.
- Add chicken and a dash of pepper.
- Cover and simmer until tender, about 1 hour.
- Add butter during last 10 minutes of cooking.
- The combination of the chicken flavor with the

- ingredients
- will
- yield
- a delicious stewed chicken with
- a rich savory gravy.
- Serve in a large crockery dish, piping hot.
- Hot split biscuits or rolls make an excellent base for smothering with this delicious gravy.
