Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 lb. round steak
  • 1/4 c. flour
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 8 medium carrots, sliced
  • 8 medium potatoes, sliced
  • 1 pkg. dry onion soup mix
  • 3 1/2 c. water

Method

  • Preheat oven to 350°.
  • Cut meat into serving size pieces. Pound flour, salt and pepper into meat and brown well.
  • Arrange in 3-quart casserole.
  • Place vegetables on top.
  • Sprinkle with onion soup mix and add water.
  • Cover and bake at 350° for 2 hours. Gravy may be made from liquid before serving.
  • Serves 8.
