Ingredients

  • 2 (29 oz.) cans peach halves
  • 1 1/3 c. sugar
  • 1 c. cider vinegar
  • 4 cinnamon sticks
  • 2 tsp. whole cloves
  • maraschino cherries (optional)

Method

  • Drain peaches; reserve syrup.
  • Mix with other ingredients. Bring to boil; lower temperature and simmer for 10 minutes.
  • Pour hot syrup over peaches.
  • Add maraschino cherries if desired (makes it pretty).
  • Cool; chill in the refrigerator before serving.
  • A good dish to prepare a day or so before serving.
  • Good served with turkey, ham or roast.
