- 12 medium onion, finely chopped
- 2 eggs
- 14 cup water
- 12 cup rolled oats (I use the qick cooking kind)
- 1 tablespoon prepared mustard
- 12 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1 teaspoon water
- 14 teaspoon pepper
- 2 12 lbs lean ground beef
- meatball dripping
- 2 cups beef broth
- 2 teaspoons prepared mustard
- 1 12 teaspoons ground nutmeg
- 12 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 14 teaspoon pepper
Method
- Preheat oven to 350.
- In mixing bowl, combine onion, eggs, water, oats, mustard, nutmeg, salt and pepper.
- Add ground beef, mix well.
- Shape into 16 large meatballs.
- Place in a shallow baking pan.
- Bake, uncovered at 350 for 25 minutes or until no pink remains.
- Remove meatballs, reserve drippings.
- To make gravy, in medium saucepan combeine the meatball drippings, beef broth, prepared mustard, ground nutmeg, Worcestershire sauce, and pepper stirring until combined.
- Stir in 2 tablespoons cornstarch.
- Cook and stir till thickened and bubbly.
- Cook and stir 2 minutes more.
- Add gravy to meatballs and mix to combine.
