Ingredients

  • 1 c. chopped onions
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 (1 lb. 14 oz.) can tomatoes, cut up
  • 1 (1 lb.) can tomatoes, cut-up
  • 1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste
  • 1 1/4 c. snipped parsley
  • 1 Tbsp. brown sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. monosodium glutamate
  • 1 1/2 tsp. dried oregano, crushed
  • 1/4 tsp. dried thyme, crushed
  • 1 bay leaf

Method

  • In Dutch oven, combine onion, meat and garlic; cook until meat is browned and onion tender.
  • Skim off excess fat, remaining ingredients and 2 cups water.
