Ingredients

  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 green bell pepper, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 8 ounces sliced mushrooms
  • 3 minced garlic cloves
  • 1 12 lbs ground beef
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • 1 teaspoon basil
  • 1 teaspoon italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ground pepper
  • 12 teaspoon thyme
  • 1 teaspoon parsley
  • 1 teaspoon brown sugar
  • 6 ounces tomato paste (can)
  • 32 ounces tomato sauce (can)
  • 28 ounces diced tomatoes (fresh)
  • parmesan cheese

Method

  • Saute bell pepper and onions on low about 15 minutes or until onions are clear and soft.
  • Add mushrooms and garlic and saute until slightly browned.
  • Brown beef with bay leaves, oregano, basil, Italian seasoning, salt, pepper, thyme and parsley.
  • Add tomato paste, sauce, diced and brown sugar.
  • Cover and simmer for at least 1 1/2 hours or all day.
  • Top cooked spaghetti with sauce and parmesan.
