Ingredients

  • 4 Tbsp. shortening
  • 2 tsp. prepared mustard
  • 4 Tbsp. flour
  • 3 Tbsp. lemon juice
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 c. mayonnaise
  • 2 c. milk
  • 2 c. shrimp
  • cayenne pepper (ground)
  • 1/4 lb. spaghetti (4 oz.)

Method

  • Melt shortening, flour and salt.
  • Stir until smooth.
  • Add milk gradually.
  • Stir and cook until thick.
  • Add cayenne pepper, mustard, lemon juice and mayonnaise.
  • Remove from heat.
  • Add cleaned shrimp to hot sauce.
  • Cook spaghetti in boiling salted water until tender.
  • Drain spaghetti.
  • Place on platter.
  • Cover with hot shrimp sauce.
  • Sprinkle with paprika.
  • Serves 4.
